Rocktober Updates:

We have finished mastering the EP at Blumlein Sound with the talented Adrian Morgan. I frikkin love the internet. We did the whole thing without ever meeting face to face. And it sounds astounding. YEA. Now we're shippin' it off to Thingmakers. Cuz we want you to to like to look at it, hold it, gnaw on it - whatever makes you feel 16 again... The irony of it all is that we have like another three new songs ready to record but that will have to wait.

We have a podcast of sorts up. We'll be exposing certain Members Only MP3's through the mechanism so fire up your RSS reader and stay tuned.

Finally, we're up on the uber-hip Myspace.com. We're not sure we understand what the kids are up to, but if it's good enough for Time of Orchids and Jenna Jameson, well it's good enuff for us. Go check it out since there are a coupla new songs up there exclusively on Myspace. Peas out.

We have recorded our EP!

Yes ... contrary to all existing evidence, rumors, nay-saying and delays, we finally recorded our EP. For three days, from July 13th to July 15th, we occupied the venerable grounds of Fun City Recording Studio and recorded 5 songs. Alas, it was over all too soon and now we are all left with postpartum depression. Still the experience resonates in our souls (and ears) as we are already scheming to commit more music to recording. In the mean time, we are looking into mastering and production for the EP. Hopefully, we will have the finished entity in our hands within 4-6 weeks ... maybe?

We would like to thank Wharton Tiers, for his recording and mixing thaumaturgy as well as our guest musicians William Bredbeck of Padilla (and other outfits, too many to count), Tim Byrnes of the Friendly Bears and Ustad Sri Taco Leg of no particular affiliation.

We are tired of seeing you at the local OTB .... please don't go there any more ... Now that we must part again, we will leave you with these few pictures until we can come back and announce the EP to be ready and available.

Dear Audio Deviants,

Welcome to our revised website! Malcontents have been crushed and dissident pixels assimilated; we have streamlined the interface a little bit for your improved browsing pleasure and added a new section: radiobosola.

So far you have heard a couple of demo recordings, a few live recordings and several loops from our rehearsals ... we want to expand this sonic array to give a broader musical context to what you have already listened to on this site or at a show. The music industry renders the bands you like opaque. In most cases, you will buy a CD about every two years and see a couple of live shows with little digression from the studio releases. There is no insight into the band's process or a wider view of their musical lives. A musician doesn't only subsist on 45 minutes worth songs for two years even though at Graceland they will tell you that once Elvis ate only meatloaf for so many months!

The internet is the ideal tool for a band to invite listeners into a more expansive musical context. No need for you to buy CDs and no need for us to make polished studio recordings ... more spontaneous, more combustive. It's additional communication, expression and sharing. This is the purpose of radiobosola. It's a place for our individual or group digressions, whims, research and experimentation. Aside from that, you will also find that the ear, ship in a bottle, flying hammer and other curiosities on the loops page will at long last, buzz, humm and resonate with new sounds!

We would also like to announce some plans for this year. First and foremost, we plan to record an EP at a professional studio. This has been much delayed but will finally take place in the near future. We will post updates on this, as things take shape. Next are further revisions and additions to the website. New demo recordings will be up soon followed by a breach into the visual dimension, from abstract to real, with animations and video. Finally, we will start our own label, Gecekondu Records, to distibute and share music in parallel with the more polished and professional releases.

We hope to see you at a show or the local OTB,

Stay Tuned!

Bosola
